ALGORITHM

What struck me about the database is that it often contains 'I miss'. During this corona time, a lot from daily life is missed. We cannot do what used to be so normal for us. That makes us think, and makes us realize that it is of great value. Perhaps we should invest more time after the corona time.
These are sketches where I experimented and investigated what an algorithm could possibly be.
To make it clearer, I created an extra database where I used all data with the word 'miss'. This can be found in the sheet 'Hilde'.
I made some graphs to see what is most missed.
There was largely online communication, only 2 people communicated offline about what they were missing.
Exactly half of the data indicates a negative feeling when missing something or someone. The other half is neutral or positive.
Most conversations that were talked about missing something were conducted personally (1 to 1). The informal conversations were addressed to a group.
What people miss most are people. Yet 12 of the 32 things that were missed were materialistic things, ranging from museums to f.e. dancing in a club.
How did you feel?
Was communication online or offline?
Was the conversation personal or informal?
Are you missing someone or something?
THE PROCESS
Some ideas
THE CONCEPT
Passive in active
After the feedback from Eefje to make my concept more active instead of passive, I continued.

A lot is missed in this corona time, but what can you do if you miss something or someone? That's how I came up with an idea to create an algorithm that offers help. I looked up articles and came up with a list of tools.

Since there is mainly communication via WhatsApp about people missing something, I want to create an online algorithm that keeps track of data from WhatsApp.
The vast majority of feelings are communicated via WhatsApp.
Which communication platform?
The app that already collects data on health status are the built-in apps 'health' from Apple and Samsung.
Tools dealing with loss
♦ Hold on to beautiful moments
♦ Make agreements about contact
♦ Live towards the moment of reunification
♦ Find nice distractions
♦ Talk about it with others
If someone types 'I miss you' on WhatsApp, this info is stored in Apple's Health app.

It is saved who the sender is, what the person typed and at what time it was sent.

If the algorithm recognizes a pattern, for example to a specific person almost every time at the same time, the algorithm can respond to this and provide help in advance.

There are 5 tools, explained below:

1. Hold on to beautiful moments
When one clicks this one will be taken to the photo album, where you can see photos with that particular person.

2. Make agreements about contact
If you click on this, you will be redirected to your calendar on your phone where you can make a new appointment.

3. Live towards the moment of reunification
If you click on this, a time bar will appear with how long it will take before you have agreed with the person.

Find fine distractions
The algorithm gives Netfix tips or other things to do.

5. Talk to others
If you click on this you will be forwarded to call a trusted person.
A new feature in Apple's 'Health' app, which tracks how often you miss someone and offers resources based on that.
